Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $766,942)

The Queens Community Justice Center (Justice Center), a project of Justice Innovation Inc. d/b/a Center for Justice Innovation, proposes to implement the Coming Home: Queens Reentry Program in response to Category 2 of the FY 2021 OJJDP Second Chance Act Youth Offender Reentry Program solicitation. This reentry/aftercare program will support the successful transition of youth returning from juvenile residential facilities and promote public safety, targeting youth ages 12 to 18 who are returning from juvenile detention and placement facilities and their families. The Justice Center will work with the New York City Administration for Children’s Services to identify youth returning to Queens, New York, who are assessed as moderate to high risk and provide 60 youth over three years with services and support.
