This webinar will focus on understanding the legal definition of competency in juvenile cases, understanding what constitutes a valid competency exam and how to handle experts on the stand. Competency is often raised as an issue and prosecutors must be knowledgeable of what competency is, what competency evaluations consist of, and what legal standards pertain to competency proceedings. This training will help guide decision-making when competency is raised as an issue, and will assist prosecutors in preparing for court proceedings.
