Pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 5633(d), if a state fails to submit a plan or submits a plan that does not meet the requirements of the JJDP Act, the OJJDP Administrator shall endeavor to make the Formula Grants program fund allocation available to local public or private nonprofit agencies within the state. OJJDP FY 18 Mentoring Opportunities for Youth Initiative
OJJDP FY 18 Internet Crimes Against Children: Strengthening Investigative Tools and Technology for Combating Child Exploitation
This program will increase technological investigative capacity and associated training to ICAC task forces and affiliated federal, state, and local law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies. This solicitation will particularly focus on supporting the development, refinement, and advancement of widely used investigative tools, methods and technologies that address child pornography, exploitation and sex trafficking.
OJJDP FY 18 Addressing Training Needs for Juvenile Prosecutors
This program will support funding to state prosecutors officesâ that are responsible for administering training to state prosecutors, such as State Prosecutor Coordinating Offices, to address training gaps and needs for juvenile prosecutors. Funding can be used to identify, develop and/or supplement state-wide training resources and tools for juvenile prosecutors and their support staff. The goal of this program is to strengthen the skills and knowledge base for juvenile prosecutors in order to enhance public safety and improve outcomes for youth.
OJJDP FY 18 Evaluation of Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Training
The purpose of this project is to assess the efficiency, effectiveness, and cost benefits of government-funded internet crimes against children (ICAC) training to assist state and local law enforcement agencies develop effective responses to technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation and internet crimes against children.
OJJDP FY 18 Drug Treatment Courts Program
This program will provide funding to support states, units of local governments, and Tribes to support juvenile drug treatment courts and family drug courts. Category 1 will provide funding to juvenile drug treatment courts to implement enhancements based on the Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Guidelines.
OJJDP FY 18 Supporting Tribal Youth: Training, Technical Assistance and Youth Leadership
This multi-category solicitation will provide regional and national training to build youth leaders across Indian Country, and provide training and technical assistance to OJJDP Tribal grantees and federally recognized Tribes. The specific category titles are: Tribal Youth Leadership Development Initiative, and Tribal Youth Training and Technical Assistance program.
OJJDP FY 18 State System Enhancements for Youth Offenders
This program will support states and localities in developing and implementing strategies to ensure that youth involved with the juvenile justice system have fair and equal access to quality legal representation; ensure that offenders involved with the juvenile justice system have resources that address the collateral consequences of justice system involvement; and/or provide training for the juvenile indigent defense bar, including public defenders and court-appointed counsel working on behalf of juvenile indigent defendants.
OJJDP FY 18 Family Drug Court Research and Evaluation Program
The purpose of this project is to support methodologically rigorous research and evaluations with practical implications for family drug courts including identifying strategies and approaches to address the opioid epidemic.
OJJDP FY 18 Specialized Services and Mentoring for Child and Youth Victims of Sex Trafficking
The purpose of this program is to enhance the capacity of applicant organizations to respond to the needs of child victims of commercial sexual exploitation (CSE)/domestic sex trafficking (DST).
OJJDP FY 2018 Second Chance Act Addressing the Needs of Incarcerated Parents With Minor Children
This program will promote and expand services in detention and correctional facilities to incarcerated individuals who have children younger than age 18. This program will provide states and localities with funding to implement positive family engagement strategies and activities that address the needs of incarcerated parents with minor children.
OJJDP FY 18 Juvenile Reentry Research and Evaluation Program
The purpose of this project is to support methodologically rigorous research and evaluations (ideally a randomized controlled demonstration field experiment) with practical implications for government-funded juvenile reentry including in areas not limited to screening and assessment, behavioral management, organizational or institutional capacity and structure, cross-system services and coordination, post-release services and supervision, and family engagement and support.
OJJDP FY 18 Initiative To Develop a Research-Based Practice Guide To Prevent and Reduce Youth Violence in Communities
OJJDP FY 18 Redesign Study of OJJDP's Juveniles in Corrections Data Collections
The purpose of this project is to develop, test, and improve survey and data collection instruments and methodologies for OJJDP's corrections data collections, the Census of Juveniles in Residential Placement (CJRP) and the Juvenile Residential Facility Census (JRFC).
OJJDP FY 18 Mentoring Research Partners Program
The purpose of this project is to support partnerships between research organizations and OJJDP-funded mentoring programs for data collection and evaluation activities to assess the impact of OJJDP-funded mentoring practices for youth at risk of delinquency and those who have experienced victimization or trauma.
OJJDP FY 18 Improving Juvenile Reentry Programs Capacity for Data Collection, Analysis, and Reporting
The program will provide funding to enhance state and local programs' data collection, analysis, and reporting efforts through technical support to implement recommendations from OJJDP's Initiative to Develop Juvenile Reentry Measurement Standards. OJJDP launched the Juvenile Reentry Measurement Standards project in FY 2015 to establish a model to assist jurisdictions in measuring services and outcomes in juvenile reentry.
OJJDP FY 18 Law Enforcement-Youth Field Initiated Research and Evaluation Program
This solicitation will support field-initiated, methodologically rigorous research and/or evaluations focused on interactions between law enforcement and youth, with practical implications for the identification and development of programs and policies that ensure officer, youth, and community safety.
OJJDP FY 18 Second Chance Act Ensuring Public Safety and Improving Outcomes for Youth in Confinement and While Under Community Supervision
This program will provide funding to support reentry strategies that address treatment services for youth with co-occurring substance abuse problems and mental health disorders, reentry services for gang-involved youth, and training and technical assistance to improve community supervision practices for juveniles who are placed on probation or are being released from secure confinement. OJJDP FY 18 National Juvenile Court Data Archive
The purpose of this project is to collect, maintain, and make accessible the nation's primary source of detailed information on juvenile court case processing of delinquency and status offense cases, and to generate annual estimates of case processing. The Archive also provides juvenile justice researchers and policymakers with the ability to access automated juvenile court data sets, to study a wide range of national and subnational juvenile justice issues, to monitor trends, and to identify emerging issues.
OJJDP FY 18 VOCA Support for Children's Advocacy Centers
Cat 1: This program will fund a national membership and accreditation organization for children's advocacy center programs. The funding will enable the successful applicant to provide services to membership organizations and to implement standards for program accreditation.
Cat 2: This program will provide funding to manage a national grant awards program for local children's advocacy center programs.
Cat 3: This program funds CACs to provide services for child pornography victims.
