Targeted Outreach to State Legislatures on Juvenile Justice

The National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) will educate and inform state legislatures as they review and reform juvenile justice systems and policy. Information, assistance, and training provided by NCSL will help state lawmakers strengthen their capacity to comply with the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act core requirements, administer Formula Grant awards and subawards, and strengthen their individual juvenile justice systems.

Services

NCSL will prepare and disseminate print and web-based information to broadly communicate with legislative audiences on issues related to youth justice reform; provide prominent NCSL meeting forums and specialized events to inform lawmakers on juvenile justice state policies; provide specialized assistance to state legislatures on youth justice issues; and collaborate, coordinate, and provide specialized assistance to OJJDP and all organizations participating in the Training and Technical Assistance for the Formula Grants Program.
