Top Story: Children’s Advocacy Centers Adapt to Challenges Presented by Pandemic
Children’s advocacy centers play a vital role in coordinating the investigation of child abuse cases and treating the victims. Following the emergence of COVID-19, OJJDP’s partners worked with local centers to shift investigation and intervention services to virtual platforms.
Youth Voices: A Second Chance
After returning from juvenile detention, “Jay” received intensive case management from a dedicated life coach and probation officer. The OJJDP-supported program for gang-affiliated youth has helped him desist from delinquent activity and become a positive role model for his younger siblings.
Tribal Connections
This new feature will highlight the accomplishments of Tribal youth, along with funding opportunities, best practices, and resources for Tribes and other organizations serving American Indian and Alaska Native youth. This issue focuses on the Tribal Youth Virtual Conference and the feedback gathered during four town hall meetings on juvenile justice in Indian country.
