OJJDP has updated its Statistical Briefing Book with a new Data Snapshot that highlights findings from OJJDP's 2020 Juvenile Residential Facility Census.
The data show the number of youth in placement fell 77 percent between 2000 and 2020. The data also show that the majority of facilities reported screening all or some youth for service needs within one week of admission.
Developed for OJJDP by the National Center for Juvenile Justice, the research division of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges, the Statistical Briefing Book offers easy online access to statistics on a variety of juvenile justice topics.
