On December 6, 2023, the Coordinating Council on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention convened in Washington, D.C. The Council explored strategies to improve supportive services available to justice-involved youth and youth at risk of justice involvement. A panel of experts provided both verbal and written testimony. In her opening remarks, OJJDP Administrator Liz Ryan, who serves as Council Vice Chair, asked panelists:
- How might Council member agencies enhance coordinated service to prevent youth from entering the justice system?
- How might Council member agencies coordinate to increase access/remove barriers to opportunities and services that support the success of justice-involved youth in their communities?
The Council is posing the same questions to all stakeholders, including young people, family members, practitioners, and other experts in the youth justice field. We want to hear from you! Submit your feedback to the Council by March 15, 2024.
