The National Criminal Justice Training Center will host the School Resource Officer Training Conference on June 13-15, 2017, in Appleton, WI. This training is designed to help law enforcement and school personnel address school violence and youth victimization through crime prevention and response strategies. Presenters will examine the impacts of trauma on youth and discuss strategies for working with students experiencing mental illness and learning disabilities. Participants will learn responses to critical incidents, study case studies related to school safety and security, and examine trends and risks related to social media and technology, alcohol and substance abuse, and gangs.
