OJJDP's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Program highlights Safer Internet Day on February 8, 2022. This annual awareness campaign promotes Internet safety and encourages open conversations between parents and their children about online threats.
Sextortion is the focus of this year’s campaign. The ICAC Task Force Program has developed an infographic to help prevent sextortion among youth. Sextortion is an online crime that exploits youth through coercion or blackmail to acquire sexual content, engage in sex, or obtain money.
The ICAC Task Force Program also offers Internet safety resources to educate parents and their children about online safety.
