May is National Drug Court Month. In the past year, there were more than 20 million people age 12 and older with a substance abuse disorder. OJJDP funds drug courts that help youth and families overcome the effects of substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders.
OJJDP awarded more than $26 million to drug court programs nationwide in fiscal year 2020. OJJDP has recently announced fiscal year 2021 funding opportunities to support its Family Drug Court Program and its Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Program. On May 27, 2021, OJJDP will host a webinar on "Case Management Models and Treatment Services to Support Juvenile Healing to Wellness Court Participants."
