May is National Drug Court Month. OJJDP-funded drug courts help youth and families overcome the effects of substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. In 2019, OJJDP awarded more than $19 million to drug court programs nationwide.
OJJDP recently released a new blog discussing OJJDP's support of its drug court grantees during the COVID-19 pandemic. The blog highlights how OJJDP is providing juvenile drug treatment courts with resources and ongoing training and technical assistance during the crisis, including a three-part webinar series on social distancing. OJJDP is also supporting family drug courts by continuing to disseminate COVID-19-related resources, host trainings and webinars, and guide practitioners through practice changes.
