President Biden proclaimed April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month, dedicated to addressing child abuse and neglect nationwide. Join OJJDP in honoring those who work to support children, strengthen families, and help spread awareness on how to prevent child abuse.
OJJDP funds programs and training that are critical to the intervention and investigation of child abuse and neglect cases. In fiscal year 2021, the Office awarded $43.1 million under its Victims of Child Abuse Act programs, including more than $28 million for OJJDP-supported Children’s Advocacy Centers, more than $11 million for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) training, and more than $3 million for child abuse training for judicial and court personnel.
