The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) announces the availability of OJJDP News @ a Glance, September 2024. This month's feature stories highlight a new curriculum developed by OJJDP to combat hate crimes and identity-based bullying by youth and a school-based program intended to reduce youth violence in the neighborhood surrounding a Southwest Philadelphia high school.
"From the Administrator’s Desk" features Administrator Liz Ryan's remarks at the 45th Juvenile Justice Symposium in Biloxi, MS, which emphasized the state's commitment to listening to youth. "From the Field" spotlights an initiative providing South Dakota youth an opportunity to paint murals in public spaces. "Tribal Connections" highlights the role Tribal Youth Resource Center Young Leaders played in a recent gathering supported by OJJDP's Tribal Youth Program. Another article focuses on Administrator Ryan's remarks at the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Legislative Conference in Washington, DC, on the 50-year legacy of the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act.
