OJJDP Administrator Liz Ryan joined The Imprint Weekly Podcast to discuss juvenile justice system reforms, as well as the Biden Administration's support for youth justice.
Ryan recounts her earlier work as an advocate for youth justice reform and shares the three priorities she is advancing as OJJDP Administrator:
- Treat children as children.
- Serve young people at home, with their families, in their communities.
- Open up opportunities for system-involved youth.
Ryan describes the OJJDP listening sessions held this summer with youth justice stakeholders from across the country. She discusses the feedback the Office received, which will inform the development of an OJJDP action plan to guide the agency's work.
