National Prevention Week is May 12 to 18, 2019, an observance dedicated to increasing public awareness about mental health and substance use disorders. The Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) has released "Substance Use Prevention: A Resource Guide for School Staff." This online resource guide provides teachers, principals, and other school staff with a comprehensive approach to identifying, addressing, and reducing student drug use. This guide is a combined effort of ONDCP, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Department of Education.
