The National Institute on Drug Abuse NIDA) has announced two funding opportunities as part of the National Institute of Health's Helping to End Addiction Long-Term (HEAL) initiative to combat the national opioid crisis. This initiative will fund research grants and a coordinating center focused on establishing the evidence base for interventions and strategies to prevent the initiation of opioid misuse and the development of opioid use disorder in at-risk older adolescents and young adults.
