On May 24 at 2 p.m. ET, the U.S. Department of Justice will host and livestream the 40th Annual National Missing Children's Day ceremony honoring the heroic and exemplary efforts of agencies, organizations, and individuals to protect children.
Attorney General Merrick B. Garland, Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta, Office of Justice Programs Assistant Attorney General Amy L. Solomon, and OJJDP Administrator Liz Ryan will participate in this commemoration.
The Justice Department will present commendations to members of the North Texas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, responsible for the rescue of more than 50 child victims.
Awards will be presented to two law enforcement officers for their investigations of child sexual exploitation and child protection cases. Additionally, a fifth-grade student will be recognized as the National Missing Children's Day poster contest winner.
