The Council is an independent body within the Federal Government that coordinates federal programs related to youth justice and missing and exploited children.
The Council's September meeting focused on partnerships with the Department of Agriculture and AmeriCorps. In addition, the Council reviewed and approved its final draft report to Congress for fiscal year 2024, which draws upon input gathered from the field, expert testimony, youth panelists, and commentary at past meetings. Office of Justice Programs Acting Assistant Attorney General Brent Cohen and OJJDP Administrator Liz Ryan, who serves as the Vice Chair of the Council, provided remarks. View the meeting page.
