Celebrating 60 Years of the Civil Rights Act of 1964: Getting Youth Involved
OJJDP hosted this webinar on July 25, 2024, in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. It provided an overview of the Civil Rights Movement and why OJJDP is celebrating the anniversary of this historic legislation. Presenters discussed a program that works with youth to empower them to continue to fight for civil rights for all and the work of the Community Relation Service (which was born out of the Civil Rights Act) to help individuals build a peaceful and more equitable society in schools and communities.
