Overview of Criminal Extremist Hate Groups
Held on July 28, 2022, OJJDP hosted "Overview of Criminal Extremist Hate Groups" as part of OJJDP’s Preventing Youth Hate Crimes & Identity-Based Bullying Initiative webinar series.
In this webinar, intended for youth justice professionals, presenters helped the attendees understand criminal extremist hate groups’ trends, symbols, locations, communications, targets, and style of recruiting juveniles; understand strategies from a practitioner perspective when working with youth who have been or are at increased risk for being radicalized; learn information based on lived experiences from an ex-extremist; and gain an understanding of the State and Local Anti-Terrorism Training Program, which provides agencies strategies, resources, technical assistance, and grants to prevent targeted violence and hate crimes.
