Recognizing and Combating Implicit Bias in the Juvenile Justice System Webinar
Held on April 7 2022, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. ET, OJJDP hosted Recognizing and Combating Implicit Bias in the Juvenile Justice System: Educating Professionals Working With Youth as part of OJJDP's Preventing Youth Hate Crimes & Identity-Based Bullying Initiative webinar series.
During the webinar, intended for youth justice professionals, presenters helped participants understand best practices to combat implicit and internal bias and how bias can influence decision-making for youth in the juvenile justice system. Presenters also explained how professionals can help youth who are in the juvenile justice system rectify, reduce, and mitigate their own internal bias when released from the juvenile justice systems.
