Strategies for the Prevention, Response and Recovery from Acts of Violence Webinar
OJJDP, in collaboration with the Police Foundation, presented “Strategies for the Prevention, Response, and Recovery from Acts of Violence in Schools” discussing ongoing efforts to prevent, respond to, and recover from school violence. Presenters explored lessons learned, best practices, and the role of school resource officers in school violence prevention.
Retired Police Chief Mike Kehoe shared lessons learned from the response to the Sandy Hook shooting. NASRO Executive Director Mo Canady discussed the role of school resource officers in the prevention of school violence. The Police Foundation provided an overview of ongoing efforts to prevent, respond to and recover from violence in schools; and share best practices.
