More than Half: Brain Injury Among Justice Involved Youth Webinar
Held on June 12, 2019 and hosted by OJJDP in conjunction with the Brain Injury Association of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Department of Health, this webinar discussed the issue of brain injury and its impact on justice-involved youth. The webinar provided an overview of brain injury (incidence/prevalence, causes, and effects) as well as a summary of the latest research around its over-representation in justice-involved populations. It also addressed the impact on justice-involved youth in terms of risk and responsivity. At its conclusion, the webinar highlighted the National Partnership on Juvenile Services’ national position statement on brain injury as well as related policy/practice implications.
