This bibliography of publications related to juvenile male and female sex offenders contains 531 entries of publications through August 2002.
Abstract
The bibliography was developed from a comprehensive literature search that began in spring 1998 and continued through April 1999. The bibliography was last updated in 2002, except for the bibliography's general growth and development section. Because there is limited information on juvenile female sex offenders, the bibliography also includes literature on adult female sex offenders. The bibliography is divided into the following sections: Assessment (decisionmaking and tool development); Treatment (physiological research, elements, models, and issues of concern to individuals working with juvenile sex offenders); Offender Characteristics (offender's own abuse history, sexualization, incest, family and peers, criminal methods, mental health, recidivism, comparative studies, retrospective studies, and combination of characteristics); Legal Issues; Juvenile Female Sex Offenders; Adult Female Sex Offenders; and Miscellaneous. Details are provided on the methodology for creating the bibliography.
