Abstract
"Profile: Jim Walter" describes the background experience of the program administrator for the AMBER Alert Training and Technical Assistance Program, who assumed this role in July 2014. For the previous 10 years he had overseen AMBER Alert in Indian Country and also headed the Southern Border Initiative. "Family Roundtable" features the proceedings of a meeting in which 30 survivors who lost a family member to homicide met in Nashville, TN, on April 18-19, 2015, to develop recommendations for law enforcement, victim advocates, prosecutors, courts, probation and parole, and the media. Recommendations are outlined for each of these criminal justice domains. "On the Front Lines: AMBER Alert on Cell Phone Leads to Safe Recovery Within Minutes" reports on California's practice of informing cell phone users with immediate information on AMBER Alerts. A case is reported where this practice led to the recovery of three kidnapped children. "AMBER Alert in Indian Country" describes online training on child abuse abduction cases in Indian Country. The AMBER Alert Training and Technical Assistance Program has partnered with the Missing and Exploited Children's Program to host seminars on missing and abducted child cases and human trafficking. "AMBER Alert International" reports on Jamaica's efforts to recover abducted children and Belgium's conference on missing children and adults. "Letters to the Advocate" includes letters pertinent to AMBER Alert activities, and "Odds & Ends" briefly reports on various activities related to the work of AMBER Alert.
