OJJDP FY 08 Brief Interventions and Referrals to Treatment (BIRT) for Juvenile Courts and Juvenile Drug Courts
The Victims of Child Abuse Act of 1990, as amended, authorizes OJJDP to support the development of multidisciplinary teams and children's advocacy centers in local communities to improve their response to child abuse. It specifically directs the creation of four Regional Children's Advocacy Centers throughout the United States to provide training and technical assistance to local communities for this purpose.
OJJDP FY 08 Enforcing the Underage Drinking Laws (EUDL) Discretionary Program: University College Initiative to Reduce Underage Drinking
The Association for Missing and Exploited Children's Organizations will operate the national membership organization for nonprofit organizations serving missing children's families and providing related services that identify and promulgate best practices in serving families of missing children.
The purpose of this program is to assist Wyoming in developing a range of secure and nonsecure alternatives for juveniles in custody and in revising pertinent policies to address compliance with the core requirements of the JJDP Act. The program is authorized under the provisions of the Act, specifically, Section 223(d) of the JJDP Act.
