Since Wyoming does not participate in the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDP Act), Part B, Formula Grants Program, as amended, the state is ineligible to receive the fiscal year (FY) 2010 Formula Grants Program allocation authorized under Sections 221 to 223 of the JJDP Act (codified at 42 U.S.C. Sections 5631 and 5633), in the amount of $570,000. Accordingly, OJJDP, will competitively award these funds through the OJJDP FY 2010 Nonparticipating State Program: Wyoming.

Through this program, OJJDP seeks to identify a provider to serve the Missing and Exploited Children Program through a variety of services and program support. Authorized by the Missing Children=s Assistance Act of 1984, the Missing and Exploited Children (MEC) Program is the primary vehicle for building an infrastructure to support the national effort to prevent the abduction and exploitation of children.

The VOCA Regional Children's Advocacy Centers competitive program supports four Regional Children's Advocacy Centers (RCACs) that will work to (1) develop multidisciplinary teams, local children's advocacy center programs, and state chapter organizations that respond to child abuse and neglect; and (2) strengthen existing multidisciplinary teams, child advocacy center programs, and state chapter organizations through the delivery of training and technical assistance.
