PbS will meet the initiatives intended goal of improving juvenile justice outcomes by expanding access to its continuous program to states, territories and tribal nations that are not currently participating by completing three objectives:
1. Engage, train and provide technical assistance to implement PbS in up to 12 states, territories and tribal nations that are not currently participating;
2. Work closely with OJJDP to identify any priorities or emerging issues that PbS data currently captures and modify and/or expand data elements to include new data;
3. Build the technology to transfer the data into a structure that can be used by researchers.
The initiative will result in a more robust group of participating facilities contributing to a rich field average that reflects practices across the country and can be made available to researchers for analysis to identify best practices.
