The Formula Grants Program is authorized under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act. The purpose of this program is to support state and local delinquency prevention and intervention efforts and juvenile justice system improvements. Supported activities and efforts may include planning and administration, establishing, operating, coordinating, and evaluating projects directly or through grants and contracts with public and private agencies for the development of more effective education, training, research, prevention, diversion, treatment, and rehabilitation programs in the area of juvenile delinquency and programs to improve the juvenile justice system as found in section 221 of the JJDP Act. The Board of State and Community Corrections (BSCC) is Californias State Administering Agency (SAA) for funding awarded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). The FY20 Title II Grant Program funds will be used to support the following OJJDP Program Purpose Areas, as defined by OJJDP. Each funded program targets at least one of the following six program purpose areas: Aftercare/Reentry, Alternatives to Detention and Placement, Community Based Programs, Diversion, Mental Health Services, Mentoring, Counseling, and Training Programs.
