Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2020, $623,981)
The Formula Grants Program is authorized under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act. The purpose of this program is to support state and local delinquency prevention and intervention efforts and juvenile justice system improvements. Supported activities and efforts may include planning and administration, establishing, operating, coordinating, and evaluating projects directly or through grants and contracts with public and private agencies for the development of more effective education, training, research, prevention, diversion, treatment, and rehabilitation programs in the area of juvenile delinquency and programs to improve the juvenile justice system as found in section 221 of the JJDP Act. The Youth Development Division (YDD) and Youth Development Council (YDC), Oregons State Advisory Group, will continue to align the States FY20 Title II award Three Year Plan with the Governor Kate Browns priorities: improve school engagement and academic achievement; prevent high-school dropout; reengage youth who are not in school or working; improve service delivery and multi-systems coordination; and reduce systems disparities and ensure equity. The State of Oregons Three-year Plan priorities are: School Programs, Racial and Ethnic Disparities, Compliance Monitoring, Juvenile Justice System Improvement, State Advisory Group, and Planning and Administration.
