Tom Green County Juvenile Drug Court Treatment Program

The Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Program builds the capacity of states, state and local courts, units of local government, and federally recognized tribal governments to enhance existing drug courts or implement new juvenile drug treatment courts (JDTCs) for individuals with substance abuse problems or co-occurring mental health disorders, including histories of trauma. Under Category 1: Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Planning and Implementation, funding will support jurisdictions that have identified a need to establish a JDTC.

Tom Green County seeks to establish a new JDTC in the city of San Angelo, Texas. The proposed 4-year planning and implementation grant will assist in developing a strategic plan and timeline, create policies, and implement strategic training to help the JDTC deliver the program effectively. The goal of the JDTC is to affect as many youth with substance use disorders as possible and to leverage standing relationships to develop an intensive outpatient treatment program for youth served by the court.
