This program will promote and expand services in detention and correctional facilities to incarcerated individuals and their minor children younger than age 18, and provide services to children of incarcerated parents by facilitating access to services that support their needs. This program will provide states and localities with funding to implement positive family engagement strategies and activities that address the needs of incarcerated parents and their minor children.
The Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Service Board of Cuyahoga County(ADAMHSCC) will expand and implement a collaborative program that will improve services for incarcerated parents, their children, and the custodial parents/caregivers. Activities will foster positive family engagement; reduce violence and recidivism; and promote safe facilities, homes, and communities. Funding will include female incarcerated parents along with their minor children and the custodial parents/caregivers. The goal of the Healthy Families Program is to develop a coordinated, effective, and efficient service model for correctional facilities to recognize and address the needs of children of incarcerated parents so that families are supported through the challenges of incarceration.
