Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2019, $650,000)
The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force National Training Program is funded under the Department of Justice Appropriations Act, 2019, Pub. L. No. 116-6, 133 Stat. 13, 115. Under this program, the goal is to design and deliver specialized training on digital evidence forensics, tools, and technology to support the ICAC task force network that includes law enforcement, prosecutors, digital forensic specialists, and other related agencies/organizations.
With this funding, SEARCH Group, Incorporated will expand upon its multifaceted strategy to provide ICAC investigators with training to combat online child exploitation. This project will deliver specialized training on digital evidence forensics, including several core deliverables such as hands-on, laboratory-based training; web-based, self-paced training; webinars; conference presentations; and the evaluation of training and technical assistance. In addition, the project will provide for continuous technical assistance to ICAC task force members, forensic examiners, and prosecutors throughout the duration of the 15-month project via SEARCHs well-established, web-based national technical assistance program.
