The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force National Training Program is funded under the Department of Justice Appropriations Act, 2019, Pub. L. No. 116-6, 133 Stat. 13, 115. Under this program, the goal is to design and deliver specialized training on digital evidence forensics, tools, and technology to support the ICAC task force network that includes law enforcement, prosecutors, digital forensic specialists, and other related agencies/organizations.
Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) will develop and deliver specialized training and technical assistance on digital evidence forensics, tools, and technology. FVTC will support the activities of ICAC task forces; develop and maintain a cadre of experts who can conduct training on the national, state, and local levels through both traditional and nontraditional teaching modalities; and conduct evaluations and assessments of training outcomes. Project activities include the delivery of six lab-based specialized training courses related to the investigation of peer-to-peer networks and on-scene investigations. In addition, FVTC will deliver four instructor-led training courses related to the investigation of peer-to-peer networks. FVTC will also develop and deliver 19 in-person, computer lab-based specialized trainings that will include 5 new webinars, 2 online live instructor-led training classes, and 2 new self-paced online training modules.
