Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2019, $775,775)
The Second Chance Act Youth Offender Reentry Program supports states, local governments, and tribal governments in partnership with interested persons (including Federal corrections and supervision agencies), service providers, and nonprofit organizations to provide comprehensive reentry services for moderate to high-risk youthful offenders before, during, and after release from confinement.
The Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice intends to enhance implementation of its statewide youth reentry strategic plan initiated in 2013 as part of the Governors Office of Transition, Support and Reentry to reduce recidivism. Enhancement efforts will include a plan to analyze the statutory, regulatory, rules-based, and practice-based hurdles youth face when reintegrating into the community. Other plans include piloting intervention strategies and continuing successful implementation of promising programs and services that align with Georgias juvenile reentry strategic plan. CA/NCF
