Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2015, $750,000)
The Victims of Child Abuse (VOCA) Children's Advocacy Centers (CAC) Membership and Accreditation Program provides funding for membership and accreditation services for CACs, multidisciplinary teams and related professionals who provide a coordinated and comprehensive response to victims of child abuse and their families. This program is authorized by the Victims of Child Abuse Act pursuant to 42 U.S.C. section 13001 et seq.
The National Childrens Alliance (NCA) will provide membership and accreditation services to the target audience of childrens advocacy centers, multidisciplinary teams and related professionals who respond to child maltreatment. Through this program, NCA will continue to improve implementation of evidence-based treatments provided by childrens advocacy centers, with an emphasis on reaching underserved areas (rural, remote and tribal areas) and populations (American Indian, Alaska Native and Hispanic communities). In addition, NCA will elevate the quality of services in existing childrens advocacy centers through implementation of the newly revised National Standards for Accreditation and ensure consistent, high quality delivery of services across the national childrens advocacy center network through training, technical assistance and site reviews.
