Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2014, $752,386)

With OJJDP funding, the W. Haywood Burns Institute and the Center for Children's Law Policy will provide a training and technical assistance program aimed at more effectively reducing racial and ethnic disparities in juvenile justice systems that will serve to: aid with the development of a collaboration of key stakeholders locally for systems change; identify key decision points in the system where disparities occur; collect and analyze data at various decision points and provide alternatives to incarceration; develop and implement plans to reduce racial and ethnic disparities; and monitor and evaluate the program's progress.
