With OJJDP funds, the Maine Dept. of Corections/Division of Juvenile Services will: equip up to 10 Correctional Supervisors and or Transport Officers statewide with lapel cameras; initiate a process requiring all Prison Rape Elimination Act investigations to be recorded; to keep an electronic audio/video record of all PREA investigations; to keep an electronic audio/video record of cross gender transports and searches; provide training/technical assistance to expedite adoption of camera usage; and, draft new policies to include lapel camera usage and support.
