OJJDP FY 14 Application Guidance for Prison Rape Elimination Act Reallocation Funds

Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2014, $41,712)

OJJDP funds will be used to assist NY with reaching and maintaining full PREA compliance in all facilities. OCFS is will acquire the consulting services of the former DJJOY PREA Coordinator (DOJ Dual Certified) who retired from state service in October 2013. In addition, a portion of the funds will be used to provide enhanced training for investigations unit and prosecutions staff of the NYS Justice Center which provides investigative services for all DJJOY PREA allegations. These funds will also be used to provide education of external law enforcement on the dynamics and sensitivity of PREA cases.
