Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2014, $9,900)
With OJJDP funding, OK will implement the PREA Reallocation Funds project designed to bring the juvenile justice system in the State of Oklahoma into compliance with the Prison Rape Elimination Act. This will be done by reviewing and revising all current policies, procedures, contracts and written materials given to staff and detainees to ensure compliance with PREA standards and best practices. Implementing a statewide system of reporting and tracking of all incidents and maintaining data reflecting the levels of sexual assault in the various residential juvenile treatment settings. It will also be used to establish a cadre of DOJ-certified PREA auditors to perform the necessary audits of 1/3 of each covered facility type per year. This will assist in bringing Oklahoma into compliance with the education, training, reporting, monitoring and auditing PREA standards. NCA/NCF
