Dual Status Youth Initiative: A Technical Assistance Framework for Improved Outcomes
Note:
This awardee has received supplemental funding. This award detail page includes information about both the original award and supplemental awards.
This program furthers the Department's mission by providing grants and cooperative agreements for training and technical assistance to organizations that OJJDP designates.
The Robert K. Kennedy Childrens Action Corps (RFK) proposes to provide training and consultation in four sites (Fulton County, GA; Marion County, IN; El Dorado County, CA; and the municipality of Anchorage in collaboration with the state of Alaska). The proposed work will utilize the technical assistance framework developed through the MacArthur Foundation and the Models for Change: System Reform in Juvenile Justice Initiative. This system improvements approach will enable child welfare and juvenile justice systems in the four selected areas to develop and implement a more coordinated and integrated system of care on behalf of children, youth, and families. The reforms will improve data collection and management capacity, screening and assessment, case management, case planning, resource allocation, service delivery and provide improved opportunities to positively impact multi-system youth and family outcomes. The training and technical assistance will utilize proven tools, procedures, protocols and resources that have assisted state and local jurisdictions to improve outcomes for youth and families involved in multiple youth systems.
