2013 Title II Formual Grant

The Formula Grants Program is authorized under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act of 1974, as amended. The purpose of this program is to support state and local delinquency prevention and intervention efforts and juvenile justice system improvements through a range of administration, compliance and program activities including those that address juvenile justice issues for Native American Indian tribes.
The Utah Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice (UCCJJ) is the designated state agency that administers Title II Formula Grant funds. Utah will use FY14 Title II Formula Grant funds to address the following areas: 1. Provide delinquency prevention projects for children grades K-8; 2. Reduce the disproportionate representation of minority youth at decision points within the juvenile justice system from arrest through transfer and waiver to the adult system; 3. Increase access to mentoring programs serving youth involved in the child welfare or juvenile justice system who are without significant adult support; 4. Expand drug and alcohol treatment and prevention services for youth; 5. Increase and improve crisis intervention and treatment in response to needs of youth in the juvenile justice system with mental health problems or developmental disabilities; and 6. Expand and improve sex offender services and resources within the juvenile justice system. NCA/NCF
