FY 13 Formula Grant update
Note:
This awardee has received supplemental funding. This award detail page includes information about both the original award and supplemental awards.
The Formula Grants Program is authorized under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act of 1974, as amended. The purpose of this program is to support state and local delinquency prevention and intervention efforts and juvenile justice system improvements through a range of administration, compliance and program activities including those that address juvenile justice issues for Native American Indian tribes.
The State of New Hampshire's Division for Juvenile Justice Services will use FY14 Formula grant funding to focus on reducing the number of youth who enter the juvenile justice system at the diversion decision point of the system and on reducing over representation of minority youth. The State Advisory Group is targeting systems improvement on a macro level and aims to aid diversion programs and the Diversion Network to strengthen their services, stakeholder relationships and visibility; to provide guidance in public relations; and to assist their sustainability efforts. This will be accomplished by continuing to fund the Center for Professional Excellence and undertaking training of police in effective interactions with youth. The following program areas have been identified by New Hampshire to further its goals: Disproportionate Minority Contact; Juvenile Justice System Improvement; Planning & Administration; and State Advisory Group allocation.
