Title II Formula Grant's Program

The Formula Grants Program is authorized under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act of 1974, as amended. The purpose of this program is to support state and local delinquency prevention and intervention efforts and juvenile justice system improvements through a range of administration, compliance and program activities including those that address juvenile justice issues for Native American Indian tribes.
The U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI), Law Enforcement Planning Commission (LEPC) will use FY 2014 Title II funds to address juvenile delinquency in the USVI by focusing on improved data collection, compliance monitoring and deinstitutionalization of status offenders. The USVI will continue to fund activities that will provide technical assistance in the collection of data and information, inspection of new and existing facilities, and continue to work with the Governor's Office to attain the required number of State Advisory Group members to be in compliance with the OJJDP Act.
