Fiscal Year 2013 Title II Formula Grant
Note:
This awardee has received supplemental funding. This award detail page includes information about both the original award and supplemental awards.
The Formula Grants Program is authorized under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act of 1974, as amended. The purpose of this program is to support state and local delinquency prevention and intervention efforts and juvenile justice system improvements through a range of administration, compliance and program activities including those that address juvenile justice issues for Native American Indian tribes.
The North Dakota Department of Corrections Division of Juvenile Services will use FY 2014 Title II Formula Funds to maintain the state's compliance with the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act. North Dakota will allocate funding for the continued operation of a program titled Attendant Care, which provides non-secure supervision as an alternative to secure detention or jail. Annually, the Attendant Care Program supports non-secure supervision of approximately 700 youth, the majority of which are status offenders, across nine sites throughout the state including a tribal site. Funding is also being allocated to address the disproportionate contact of minority youth with the system. North Dakota will subgrant funds and require sub grantees to provide a report detailing the progress on measurable goals and objectives. NCA/NCF
