Formula Grant Title II Application for Iowa
Note:
This awardee has received supplemental funding. This award detail page includes information about both the original award and supplemental awards.
The Formula Grants Program is authorized under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act of 1974, as amended. The purpose of this program is to support state and local delinquency prevention and intervention efforts and juvenile justice system improvements through a range of administration, compliance and program activities including those that address juvenile justice issues for Native American Indian tribes.
The Iowa Criminal and Justice Planning Agency will use FY14 Title II funds to serve the state's delinquent youth population by passing dollars through to the statewide system of Juvenile Court Services offices, infusing a youth development approach into planning and funding community-based services. The State of Iowa will also use funds to support DMC-related activities and specific events or activities to further its Gender Specific Services Task Force efforts. In addition, funds will be used to support ongoing compliance monitoring activities and related research and evaluation. The following program areas have been designated to further these goals: (6) Compliance Monitoring; (10) DMC; (13) Gender Services; (35) Strategic Community Planning; (23) Planning and Administration; and (31) State Advisory Group.
