Note:
This awardee has received supplemental funding. This award detail page includes information about both the original award and supplemental awards.
The Formula Grants Program is authorized under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act of 1974, as amended. The purpose of this program is to support state and local delinquency prevention and intervention efforts and juvenile justice system improvements through a range of administration, compliance and program activities including those that address juvenile justice issues for Native American Indian tribes.
The Montana Board of Crime Control (MBCC) will use the Title II FY 2014 grant to fund effective juvenile justice programs that can be expected to help improve Montana's juvenile justice system. MBCC will direct funding resources and activities toward Native American programs, delinquency prevention, alternatives to detention, disproportionate minority contact, diversion, and juvenile justice system improvement. Montana's youth and their families at risk for coming into contact with the juvenile justice system will benefit from these programs. MBCC aims to support state, Tribal and local juvenile justice system improvement efforts; increased availability and types of prevention and intervention programs to improve the juvenile justice system; and intervention and prevention programs for Native American youth and families.
