FY 2013 Title II Formula Grant
Note:
This awardee has received supplemental funding. This award detail page includes information about both the original award and supplemental awards.
The Formula Grants Program is authorized under the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (JJDP) Act of 1974, as amended. The purpose of this program is to support state and local delinquency prevention and intervention efforts and juvenile justice system improvements through a range of administration, compliance and program activities including those that address juvenile justice issues for Native American Indian tribes.
The OJJDP FY 2014 Title II Formula Grants Program is administered by the South Carolina Department of Public Safety. South Carolina is currently out of compliance with the deinstitutionalization of status offenders and jail removal core requirements of the JJDP Act. Fifty percent of the state funds will be used to support programs that assist the state with regaining compliance with JJDP Act. The remaining funds will be used to support local units of government, non-profits, and faith-based organizations to implement evidenced-based model programming intended to impact priority juvenile justice needs as outlined by the State Advisory Group in South Carolina's 2012-2014 Three Year Comprehensive State Plan.
