NCA/NCF
This program furthers the Department's mission by providing grants and cooperative agreements for research and evaluation activities to organizations that OJJDP designates.
Since 1990, the National Center for Juvenile Justice (NCJJ), the research arm of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ), has worked with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) to advance the Offices roles as data collector and disseminator of juvenile justice statistics. The National Juvenile Justice Data Analysis Program provides OJJDP with a central, primary source of statistical data and analyses that informs the juvenile justice field concerning critical issues. This project has significantly improved the landscape of juvenile justice statistical information available nationwide by creating a data dissemination infrastructuretools that are indispensable resources for informed policy decision making. This has required NCJJ to develop current information that supports a wide range of needs and to disseminate information in a range of formats and technical skill levels. The proposed project will continue to address OJJDPs information needs in a cost-efficient manner, taking advantage of existing databases to produce empirical information on a range of topics and disseminating this information to diverse audiences in a variety of formats.
