Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2014, $500,000)
This program is funded under the authority of the Providing Resources, Officers, and Technology to Eradicate Cyber Threats to Our Children Act of 2008, (42 USC 17601-17611, et seq.)(The PROTECT Act) The Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Program supports a national network of 61 multiagency, multijurisdictional task forces engaged in investigations, forensic examinations, and prosecutions related to technology-facilitated child sexual exploitation. This national training program will provide training to ICAC task forces and affiliated federal, state, and local law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies in the areas of investigation, forensics, prosecution, community outreach and capacity building. Under Category 2: Digital Forensics, the SEARCH Group, Inc. will develop training opportunities focused on forensic analyses of computers, cell phones, wireless networks, video games, and other digital devices that may contain evidence of a crime.
